St Bartholomew’s Christmas Tree Festival 2025
5th to 14th December 2025
We would like to invite you to take part in this year’s Christmas Tree Festival. We have had some wonderful entries in the past and we’re hoping that this year’s festival will be even better!
The theme this year is “It was on a starry night…..”: please use this theme as you wish in the decoration of your tree.
Details are below and if you wish to take part please contact office@greatercorshamchuruches.org.uk
The Grand Opening of the festival is on Friday 5th December. As in previous years, this coincides with the switching on of the town’s festive lights when hopefully Corsham will be full of people. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served in the church during the evening and visitors will be able to vote for “The People’s Choice”. During the remainder of the festival the church will be open during daylight hours for visitors.
We are very grateful to Corsham Town Council who have, once again, very kindly offered to donate a large Christmas tree, which will be displayed inside the church until Christmas.
There is no charge for displaying a tree. All we ask is that you:
- Provide your own tree and stand.
- Ensure that your entry is not more than around 120 cm (4 ft) tall and 80 cm (2 ft 6 ins) wide, so that we can take as many trees as possible. Trees that significantly exceed this may have to be rejected.
- Deliver and set up your entry on Thursday 4th December between 12 noon and 6 pm and
collect it on Monday 15th December between 10 am and 12 noon. If these times are difficult for you please contact us and we will try to accommodate you.
There will be electricity provided for all entrants, so do feel free to use lights. We encourage the use of mains-powered lights; please note that if you choose to use battery-powered lights, it is your responsibility to change the batteries in the course of the festival if necessary. If at all possible, please provide static lights: flashing lights which cannot easily be switched to static mode will be turned off.
We are very happy for you to use this opportunity to advertise your school/society/organisation, so please feel free to leave leaflets or further information by your tree, in order to recruit more members or generate more interest in your organisation.
We hope that you will be able to contribute to this always-popular festival. If you are interested and intend to display a tree please let us know as soon as possible. Please do not hesitate to contact us (see phone and email below) if you have any queries and don’t forget to encourage all your friends, members and clients to come and take a look!
